23 Feb Greg Hyer is ready for his next adventure
After serving the University of Wisconsin – Madison and the technology ecosystem for more than two decades, Greg Hyer, University Research Park Associate Director, is leaving for new adventures.
Greg came to University Research Park in 1987 after serving as Wisconsin’s Deputy Secretary of Development. Greg led the development and leasing of more than 700,000 square feet in over 20 buildings and managed park programs and operations. University Research Park grew, during his time, from 60,000 square feet to over 1,800,000 square feet; 2 to 125 companies and 200 to over 3,800 people. The MGE Innovation Center was recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of 12 Business Incubators Changing the World and the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) selected University Research Park for their first Outstanding Research Park award in 1996.
AURP honored Greg in 2015 with their Career Achievement Award. Outside of work, Greg is the Chair of the Town of Cross Plains Board, an active skier and ski patrol member, a member of the Natural Heritage Land Trust Board and an avid outdoorsman.
