Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs announces $238k grant to Bunker Labs

BunkerLabsWIGovernor Walker and the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs awarded a $238,000 Entrepreneurship Grant to Bunker Labs Wisconsin.

Governor Walker’s office and the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs announced $400,000 in grants that were given to six organizations throughout Wisconsin. Bunker Labs received the largest share of state grant money and will begin a series of statewide events to promote entrepreneurial endeavors by Wisconsin’s veterans.

“We are ecstatic to have this opportunity to expand and accelerate our mission to Inspire, Educate, and Connect veteran entrepreneurs to help them start and grow their businesses throughout Wisconsin,” said Michael Ertmer, Executive Director of Bunker Labs Wisconsin. “This grant money will help us reach out to veteran entrepreneurs throughout the Badger State and help make their business dreams a reality.”

Bunker Labs Wisconsin is partnering The Wisconsin Technology Council, Wisconsin’s Small Business Development Centers, and other sponsors to create engaging programming for single day seminars, starting in April, throughout Wisconsin that will help veterans get in touch with those who can help their businesses grow. This first of its kind partnership, with the help of the Veteran Entrepreneurship Grants, will ensure that Wisconsin’s veterans, who are interested in starting their own business, or already have a business, will have access to mentors and investors, referrals to professional service providers and potential customers, and connect with voices of influence throughout the state to help them make prudent decisions to help their businesses succeed.
