He previously served as Madison’s director of economic development, spearheaded Wisconsin’s economic development efforts and was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. Aaron graduated with honors from UW in economics and was selected as a Rhodes Scholar and attended Oxford University.

Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship lunch: Alex Kubicek, Co-Founder and CEO of Understory - A lifelong passion of weather sparked by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina led Alex to receive an MS degree in Atmospheric Science at UW and fueled his ambition to start a company to leverage technology for practical, impactful solutions in climate-vulnerable industries. He has since changed the business model and pivoted to a pioneering insurance company to address the challenges in the P&C insurance sector.
