Company Overview

Mithridion was formed to translate ground-breaking research discoveries made in the UW-Madison, School of Pharmacy into drugs much needed to treat this devastating disease. The company signed an exclusive worldwide license with WARF - the technology transfer arm of University of Wisconsin (UW). We are already well advanced with a lead optimization program based on extremely potent drug leads from UW. Mithridion has raised substantial capital for its drug development programs in an ongoing program of fund raising from private and institutional investor, which it has leveraged from additional sources. In May 2005, Mithridion won the $100,000 Grand Prize in the WI Governor's Business Plan Contest. In Aug 2006, Mithridion was awarded an NIH SBIR and an STTR grant, worth $300,000. We also secured a $200,000 Wisconsin State Technology Development Fund Loan.
