State Journal marks Research Park's birth

It was 25 years ago this fall that the UW Board of Regents approved pursuing the creation of University Research Park. That anniversary was marked during the Nov. 5-6 Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium and celebrated in a Nov. 17 editorial in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Company Overview

Quintessence Biosciences, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on development of novel protein-based therapeutics as anti-cancer agents. The Company's Lead Candidate, QBI-139, is based on the Company's EVadeT Ribonuclease Technology, which consists of a human pancreatic enzyme, Ribonuclease I engineered to kill cancer cells. The EVadeT Ribonuclease technology is covered by patents acquired by the Company through an exclusive license with the University of Wisconsin. The Company is in the late pre-clinical stages of development of QBI-139 and is on target to file an Investigational New Drug Application by the end of 2007. A Phase I human clinical trial is expected to begin early in 2008.
