Kevin Conroy, chairman and chief executive officer of Exact Sciences Corp. of Madison, will attend this week’s White House summit on the effects of cancer and how the nation can come together in an effort to battle the disease.
The White House Cancer Moonshot summit on Wednesday will include Vice President Joe Biden, his wife Jill Biden and a group of leading researchers, doctors and executives from the cancer community. It also will feature opening remarks from Carol Burnett, actress and cancer activist who will serve as emcee of the summit.
Conroy’s company, Exact Sciences (Nasdaq: EXAS), has developed and is marketing a stool DNA-based screening test for colon cancer called Cologuard. The test was recently included among a slate of recommended colon cancer tests assembled by an independent panel of health care experts, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. Read more …
