As football players and tens of thousands of fans descend on Green Bay for the 2025 NFL Draft, another type of competition will be held ahead of the event.
Entrepreneurs and business startup leaders will take part in the first ever “TitletownTech Startup Draft.” The winner of the national pitch competition will get $1 million from TitletownTech, a venture capital firm that’s a partnership between the Green Bay Packers and Microsoft.
The draft will be held in Green Bay on April 24.
“While future football stars from around the country will look to Green Bay to hear Commissioner (Roger) Goodell call their name, another set of future stars — startup founders — will also have the opportunity to hear their name called from right where we stand in the shadow of Lambeau Field here at TitletownTech,” TitletownTech managing partner Craig Dickman said during a press conference Thursday.
Dickman said to qualify, startups must have less than $10 million in capital and be based in the United States or Canada. The website for the competition also said competitors should fall into Titletown’s “areas of interest,” which include “Manufacturing & Construction; Supply Chain & Logistics; Sports, Media & Entertainment; Agriculture, Water & Energy; and Digital Health.”
