From Fontana to Grantsburg, 55 entries advance in 2022 Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest

BPC logoFifty-five entries from 24 communities have advanced to the semi-final round of the 19th annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, contest producers announced.

Contestants emerged in first-round competition involving an independent panel of about 80 judges organized through the Wisconsin Technology Council and its programs, the Tech Council Innovation Network and the Tech Council Investor Networks.

The semi-finalists are spread among four broad categories: advanced manufacturing (13), business services (15), information technology (16) and life sciences (11). Within those broad categories, plans range from water technologies to education tech, from workforce recruitment solutions to energy-saving processes, and from medical devices to recreational businesses.

Those 55 plans also represent the geographic diversity of Wisconsin, with 30 coming from outside the state’s two largest cities. Fourteen of 55 entrants are women; 14 represent people from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
