08 Jun Wingman, a skinny life jacket, wins business plan contest

Hyde, a startup with a new type of small, skinny life jacket, won the grand prize Wednesday in the 2016 Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan contest.
Founded by two high school friends from the Milwaukee area, Pat Hughes and Mike Fox, Hyde’s Wingman life jacket already has been certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and is being manufactured by an unnamed sportswear company, Hughes said.
Winning the contest “means a ton,” said Hughes, a 2012 UW-Madison graduate. “It’s nice to get recognition from the local support network in Wisconsin.” Read more …
