How ‘chemistry of life’ can help fight disease topic of Nov. 22 Tech Council luncheon

Metabolism is the set of life-giving biochemical reactions that enable human cells to grow, develop and maintain physiological stability while adapting to external change. But what happens when metabolism goes array? Many diseases and conditions, some rare but some as prevalent as cancer, can take root. Researchers from the Morgridge Institute for Research, a private biomedical research body housed within the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, will talk about their work and the broader UW-Madison focus on metabolic health at the Tuesday, Nov. 22, Tech Council Innovation Network luncheon in Madison.

Gov’s Business Plan Contest open for 2023 entries through Jan. 31, 2023

It links up-and-coming entrepreneurs with a statewide network of community resources, expert advice and mentoring, management talent and possible sources of capital.

Submissions invited for two WARF Accelerator Challenge Grants, due Dec. 15

One features technologies and applications that promote mental health or wellness, or detect, prevent or treat mental health disorders. The other focuses on technologies for processing and handling large amounts of data.
